MANILA, Philippines--Comedian Vic Sotto has mastered the art of keeping his private life as such despite being a public figure.
In an interview on Dec. 3, he played smoke and mirrors with the press when they quizzed him in, well, very creative ways about the nature of his relationship with rumored girlfriend, actress Pauleen Luna.
Asked to confirm recent reports that Pauleen had visited the set of his upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako," Vic quipped, "Iniisip ko nga [kung dumalaw] eh...andami kasing shooting yan, 145 days...di ko matandaan kung dumalaw nga."

Sensing that a different tactic could yield a clear answer, if not an admission, someone asked if he is "happy" with his love life these days.
Again, Vic escaped the tricky trap. He retorted, "Kelan ba ako nalungkot?" which had everyone in the room in stitches.
Putting on a straight face, Vic said that he's always happy--except now, he is "happier, mas masaya lang."
But backtracking big time, Vic added: "We should always be happy kahit ano'ng sitwasyon mo sa buhay."
So, how happier?
"Ah, mapilit ka talaga, ha," he said, smiling over such persistence.
"[Ang happiness] di naman nasusukat yan. Pag happy ka, happy ka na."
"Girl-boy," he said, laughing at his own joke. "Yung magkaanak, kung darating ay darating, wala pong problema yon...kung sakali, gusto ko kambal!"
So there.
("Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako" co-stars Senator Bong Revilla, Jr. and multi-awarded actress Judy Ann Santos. The only fantasy comedy in this year's MMFF lineup, and one of the most expensive film to make among the entries, it opens in theaters on Dec. 25)
