Piolo: A new relationship ‘will be given in God’s time’

Keeping himself busy with work, Piolo Pascual is in no rush to enter a new relationship and believes that “it will be given in God’s time.”

Speaking on the set of his teleserye, “Dahil sa Pag-ibig,” which ends Friday, June 29, the star said that he is still waiting and praying for the girl for him.

“Siyempre naman, tao rin naman tayo. Nakakaramdam naman tayo, hindi naman nababaling lahat sa trabaho. Pero, hintay na lang at dasal,” Piolo said.

“If it’s gonna be given, it will be given in God’s time, in proper time,” he added.

Happy for the non-stop work

Being single for more than half a year, Piolo said he copes by keeping himself busy with TV and movie projects one after the other. After “Dahil sa Pag-ibig,” Piolo will start taping soon with Angelica Panganiban for their new TV drama.

“Mabuti naman ang blessing at tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho. Tanggap na lang ng tanggap, para hindi na natin maisip iyon,” he said.

Piolo shared that his work keeps him inspired, including producing "Kimmy Dora 3," which is doing well at the box office.

“I’m happy where I am. I’m happy to be able to do a lot of things. Nakakapag-Kimmy Dora pa tayo, nakakapag-anniversary ng Star Magic, may bagong soap and pelikula pa. What more can I ask for,” Piolo said.

Has the ‘faith to make things work’

He also takes a pragmatic view of his detractors.

“Parte ng showbiz iyan eh, that’s a trade-off. Most important is having the right faith to make things work. Kung wala kang paniniwala sa itaas, mabubuwag ka. Pero, pinapasa-Diyos ko na lang lahat kasi tao lang naman ako,” he said.

Piolo  also shrugged off rumors linking him to his female lead Cristine Reyes, whose relationship with Rayver Cruz is said to be rocky.

“Siyempre, lalabas naman ang totoo, I think sila pa rin naman together. Sa’ ASAP,’ we see each other, Rayver and I are friends, nag-aasaran,” he said.

Female co-stars impressed him

Piolo is happy with the success of “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” and said he will miss the staff and co-actors Christopher de Leon, Jericho Rosales, Cristine Reyes and Maricar Reyes.

‘Naging pamilya mo [sila] for almost six months,” he said.

He praised Maricar for gaining more confidence as an actress and called Cristine a “revelation” for being a sensitive performer.

“Dahil sa Pag-ibig” will air its finale on Friday, June 29, on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
