Piolo: '2011 was my most challenging year'

With the controversies he faced, actor Piolo Pascual admitted that 2011 was his most challenging year.

Piolo bore the criticism he received when former girlfriend KC Concepcion spoke about their split.  While KC did not go into details, people freely speculated and questioned Piolo’s sexual preference.

In response, Piolo kept himself busy with his upcoming TV drama “Padre de Pamilya” and various charity projects under Star Cinema and some of his endorsements.

Count the blessings

In spite of the challenges, “you know, you count all the blessings,” Piolo said in an interview in “The Buzz” on Jan. 1.

“I am thankful to the year that was and I'm looking forward to another year. You never dwell on the negative things. We live through another year,” he said.

Piolo thanked the people who stood by him through the hard times. He said that what’s important is for people to be happy and keep their faith.

‘Kimmy Dora’ sequel coming up

The heartthrob actor also said that his new teleserye with Jericho Rosales and Christopher de Leon will air soon. “I’m excited. I had to cancel my Valentine’s show because madugo yung taping,” he said.

Piolo is also working on producing more films this year under his own production outfit, Spring Films. Piolo previously produced the hit movie, “Kimmy Dora.”

“’Kimmy Dora Part 2’ [starring Eugene Domingo] is shooting already,” he revealed, “and we have a movie here in ABS-CBN and another movie outside. Iniisip pa namin kung ano ang ipa-prioritize namin sa Spring Films because madaming naka-line up,” Piolo said.
