Pinoys, celebs react to Janine Tugonon’s win

Every Filipino household probably tuned in to the coronation of Miss Universe 2012 on Thursday morning, December 20 (Philippine time) with the hope that the country’s representative, Janine Tugonon will bring home the crown.
 
As soon as the beauty pageant held in Las Vegas started, everyone was glued to their television sets. The hashtag #MissPHILIPPINESforMissUniverse2012trended on Twitter as Filipinos cheered for Janine.
 
Janine was named first runner-up, while Miss USA Olivia Culpo took home the most coveted crown as Miss Universe.
 
Local celebrities also turned to Twitter to congratulate Janine.
 



“It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda described Janine as a source of “Filipino pride.”
 

 
Former beauty queens also expressed their sentiment on Janine’s win.
 

 

 

 
Charlene Gonzales echoed Miriam’s statement. She also felt Janine “answered the best.”


Yahoo! Philippines OMG! poll: Are you satisfied with the results of Miss Universe 2012?

Based on two polls conducted during the live blog and announcement of winners article, 86% answered no, they are not satisfied with the results (live blog) while 82% also answered no (article).
