PC download charts: 'Guild Wars 2', 'Dark Souls'

Guild Wars 2 rises high across PC download charts for the week ending Monday, August 27, and the PC version of rock-hard medieval monster hunting game Dark Souls enjoys popularity during its first week on sale.

Dark Souls, already gorgeous on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, almost immediately received a substantial fan improvement upon its PC release last week.

The free DSFix mod makes particular improvements to the game's graphical prowess, and giving Dark Souls' visuals an even better presentation, appropriate for PCs rather than 6-year-old consoles -- something many thought would be included from the off.

The accessibility and ambition of Guild Wars 2 has given the new MMO a cracking start, at least among its growing community, hence its appearance atop the Impulse and Green Man Gaming charts.
