One Direction's Harry Styles was "furious" when overzealous fans forced him to abandon his car and family home.
The 18-year-old star and bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have shot to international stardom since the release of their debut album Up All Night.
The five-piece have experienced hysterical fans on their worldwide tours, but Harry is said to have been left angry when a frenzied mob stopped him enjoying a quiet night at home with his family recently.
“He was furious. He doesn’t mind signing autographs but when he can’t get in his front door it is ridiculous," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
A horde of female fans surrounded his Range Rover, before he hopped out to sign autographs. However, Harry was forced to park in a neighbour's driveway because his house was blocked.
When the group "chased him" to his parents' property, he drove off in another vehicle to spend time with friends away from the hysteria.
One Direction want to broaden their fan base. Niall insists they are eager to attract more male followers.
"We want to see more boy fans, as seeing them in the crowd is cool. It’s ninety per cent girls, but we want to expand our fanbase. We want all people to like us," he said.
