Nicole Scherzinger can’t wait to see Father Christmas wearing “surf shorts” and a garland while in Hawaii.
The American singer was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will be returning there for the festive season. There is something extra special about being on the exotic island with her loved ones and Nicole loves the family traditions they have carved out.
“I don’t have any plans for New Year yet… I’m actually going to be in Hawaii for Christmas – oh, that’s going to be fun! I totally forgot about that. I’m going to be with my whole family there. In Hawaii, our Santa Claus wears surf shorts and leis [garlands] – it’s so much fun,” she laughed to Heat magazine.
Nicole might like to keep things calm over Christmas nowadays, but it hasn’t always been that way. She admits to over-indulging in the past and hinted she might allow herself a few cheeky tipples this time around too.
“Back home in Kentucky [where Nicole grew up], we all drink a lot of Bourbon,” she explained. “It’s all in good spirit, and we’re all drinking together, so I try not to go overboard. I want to spend time with my family, so I’m not gonna get wasted. I’m loving eggnog though, with a hint of rum and bourbon. But you know… I’ve had a really intense [time] so maybe I’ll just skip the eggnog part.”
