Nicole Richie’s “duster bang” is the perfect look for 2012, says a celebrity stylist.

Danilo says the star’s long, soft fringe bangs suits every face shape and can easily be managed. The celebrity hairstylist added that even if you prefer a blunt version like Rooney Mara’s, bangs are a must this year.

“Whether you’re going for a severe Rooney Mara fringe or a duster bang that softly veils your face like Nicole’s, a fringe is the way to go for 2012,” he told British magazine Now.

The hair expert also explained what cut to ask for at the salon in order to re-create Nicole’s effortlessly stylish look.

He also revealed how to style your hair to show off your bangs perfectly.

“You get a great effect if the fringe is cut mainly from the front, rather than starting too far back at the crown,” he explained.

“When it comes to styling the rest of your hair, make sure it’s smooth and frizz-free so that your fringe is the star of the show. Switch up the look by tying the rest of your hair into a messy bun or a pony tail with snag-free bands.”
