Mom tames JC De Vera’s strip-down gig
While JC De Vera was game enough to make his body “free for all” and let the crowd touch him on stage at the recent Cosmo Bachelor Bash, the newly-minted Kapamilya hunk knows his limits.
And he’s got a conservative mom to remind him of them.
“Kasi 'yung mommy ko quite conservative. Ang sabi niya sa'kin, 'Huwag ka maglalabas ng brief!' 'Yun lang ang request niya sa'kin. Tease lang,” he told Yahoo Philippines OMG! after the Bachelor Bash held at the World Trade Center on Tuesday (September 24).
But JC was quick to deny that his family meddles with his work.
“Hindi naman. Very supportive naman sila when it comes to work. Ayoko lang 'yung ilalabas ko lahat today. Kasi bata pa ko e. Marami pa ko pwedeng ipakita.”
The former Kapuso and Kapatid endlessly thanked the Kapamilya network for his revitalized career as he believes landing on the Centefolds’ list wouldn’t be possible had he not switched networks.
“Very blessed ako pagdating do’n kasi kung hindi sa paglipat ko sa ABS hindi ako makakasali dito.”
The 27-year-old actor left TV5 last month after three years of being a Kapatid. Before that, JC was with GMA for seven years.

No projects? No problem
While waiting for his first ABS-CBN project, JC saw an opportunity to focus on workouts in time for the Bachelor Bash.
“Nagkaroon lang ako ng luxury of time to work out everyday kasi nga wala pa kong ginagawang project sa ABS-CBN. So nagbabad lang talaga ko sa gym.”
JC is thankful his efforts paid off because he was able to put up a good show at the parade of hunks.
“Nagkuha ko ng personal trainer sa gym for one month. Pagdating naman sa diet, controlled eating lang. Ako bilang ako, para humabol sa ganitong body, kailangan ko umabot ng 1,200 calories intake lang per day (below the 2,000 normal) para ma-achieve ‘to. No alcohol,no sweets, no fats 'yun lang.”
JC is reportedly collaborating with Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador for a soap opera.
Rift with Paulo Avelino?
Though tight-lipped, JC denied there’s bad blood between him and Paulo Avelino. JC is reportedly being linked to LJ Reyes, mother of Paulo’s three-year-old son.
“Okay kami. Hindi naman kami magkaaway e.”
JC maintained that he and LJ are just friends.
“Ayokong patulan 'yung isyu. Eto lang, this time lang ako sasagot. Hindi ko siya papatulin kasi wala akong dapat sagutin.”
