Model-designer-host crowned Miss Philippines Earth
Stephany Stefanowitz, a model-designer-host from Quezon City bested 46 other candidates and was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2012 at the SM Centerstage Mall of Asia on Sunday, May 27.
Glennifer Perido of Tabuk City took home the Miss Philippines Air title, while Samantha Purvor of San Juan City was named Miss Philippines Water. Thoreen Halvorsen of Puerto Princesa is Miss Philippines Fire while Candice Ramos of Vigan City is Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism.
Since 2012 is the international year of sustainable energy, the candidates are promoting environmental awareness and conservation of energy.
During the question-and-answer portion, Stephany was asked which power she would like to have if she is a superhero.
Stephany said she would like to have powers for her advocacy, which is "conservation and preservation of the environment."
"As a citizen, it is essential for us to know how our today's decisions can affect our tomorrow's generation."
"I will work hard and represent the Philippines well," Stephany told the press.
The runners-up are Glenna Christina Duch, Roxanne Corluy, Princess Lieza Manzon, Jaydielou Dilidili and Kathleen Subijano.
