Are you bored of hearing about the demure mid-length skirt, or the boho-inspired maxi dress? Then you will be pleased to know that the good-old mini skirt is back.
It may not be considered the most fashion-forward garment, but the mini skirt is an essential part of any wardrobe. Not only is it versatile – working well for a casual day look or glamorous in the evening – but it is also ideal for creating a youthful and fun aesthetic.
Models at the Spring/Summer 11 Gianfranco Ferré show looked stunning as they strutted along the runway in white mini skirts teamed with elaborate belts and plain T-shirts. And don’t worry if you don’t have the lengthy pins of a supermodel, as mini skirts teamed with killer heels are guaranteed to create the illusion of never-ending legs.
Plus, if you don’t have smooth bronzed legs worthy of a model, you can always cover up by adding a pair of leggings or some knee-length socks for a kooky look.
Don’t think you have to opt for a plain white variety either, as this look works perfectly in denim or an interesting print. Some of the more daring varieties include leopard print or floral - which provide contrasting but equally stylish looks.
