Michelle Williams says straight men are “not into” her cropped hair.
The stunning actress has become well known for her pixie-styled haircut.
However, even though Michelle loves her short tresses, she admits the style doesn’t win her any points on the dating scene.
“I've really grown into it - I feel like myself with short hair,” she said in an interview with Elle magazine.
“And it's been a really long time since I had long hair, five years. Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair!” she laughed.
The two-time Oscar nominee has a six-year-old daughter Matilda, who would like to see her mother with longer locks.
However, Michelle confessed that the reason she keeps the crop is partly to do with Matilda’s father, the late Heath Ledger. The couple broke up in 2007 before his death in 2008, but the actress still remembers him fondly.
“What Matilda would love is for her mum to grow out the cropped hair, though that's unlikely to happen any time soon,” she explained.
“I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.”© Cover Media
