Michael V. has dengue, needs platelet donations

Comedian-TV host Michael V, who is currently afflicted with dengue fever, needs platelet donations.

Michael V, also known as Bitoy, informed his followers on Instagram on Wednesday, August 14, that he is confined at St. Luke’s Hospital in Quezon City. Bitoy shared that his platelets were down to “47k,” which made him “very weak.” He needs B+ blood platelets.

He asked for prayers and promised to update his fans once his condition gets better.

Celebrity friends of Bitoy, such as couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid and sweethearts KC Montero and Rhian Ramos, turned to social media to ask for blood donors.

KC and Rhian started asking for B+ blood donors on Thursday, August 15, without saying who the recipient would be. On Friday, August 16, KC tweeted, “My dear friends. Our brother @michaelbitoygma needs a direct donor of B+ type of blood platelets. He is at st Luke's qc. Thank you all.”

Ogie also posted a photo of Bitoy at the hospital. He also asked for possible “male donor of B+ type of blood platelets.”

“Get well my dearest bro!! In Jesus name, you will be healed and be up and about. Love you,” Ogie said.

Bitoy replied and thanked Ogie. “Thanks @ogiealcasid. In due time and in God’s grace.”

Regine also pleaded for blood donors.

“Hi guys, our dear friend Bitoy is in need of blood. If your are type B+ please go to st Luke's QC. Please we need your help. Thank you.”
