Mcultour Offers Foreigners Ultimate K-Pop, K-Food and K-Beauty Experience

If K-dramas and K-pop are what sparked the world’s interest in Korea, the country’s food and beauty culture – from bibimbap to BB Cream - is sustaining what has been dubbed the Korean wave or hallyu, and now foreigners can experience it firsthand through Mcultour, CJ E&M’s exclusive cultural tour package.

Mcultour, which is set to launch this month, offers foreigners crash courses in Korean food and beauty as well as the opportunity to see their favorite K-Pop stars live on Mnet’s M COUNTDOWN stage as part of its one-day K-Food and K-Beauty tour packages.

Mwave was given a sneak peek into what Mcultour has to offer ahead of its official launch on October 17, and with growling stomachs, we kicked things off in the kitchen at CJ Foodworld in Seoul for the ‘Psy Go bibigo Cooking Class.’

Bibimbap and kalbi, or Korean style short ribs, were on the menu for the day, and after a brief demonstration by bibigo chef Kim So Hyun, we, along with 10 foreigners from China, slipped into aprons to attempt the dishes ourselves in the well-furnished kitchen at CJ Foodworld.

From mixing marinades to plating, the simplified recipes make it easy for first timers to follow, while the sound of a sizzling stovetop is sure to thrill regulars in the kitchen.

Then it was on to the best part – digging into the dishes.

After satisfying our stomachs and burning off the calories on a walking tour of the Foodworld facilities, we hopped over to Soobin Academy, located in Seoul’s ritzy Apgujeong neighborhood, to pick up some makeup tricks from the Get It Beauty Academy makeup artists.

The class kicked off with a demo from a Get It Beauty Academy expert, who spilled on what beauty trends are hot right now and showed us how to achieve the look.

We were then free to go to town on a train case full of makeup, ranging from drugstore to high end products.

Chock-full of insider beauty tips, the Get It Beauty Academy makeup artists were also on deck to offer tips - from contouring to how to get those stubborn Asian eyelashes to hold a curl - and, of course, a helping hand to the foreigners in attendance.

Feeling good inside and out, the final stop on the tour was the Mnet studio at CJ E&M because the K-Culture experience isn′t complete without K-Pop music.

Here, foreigners can see and hear the K-Pop stars and music with their own eyes and ears at the live recording of Mnet′s popular shows Wide Entertainment News and M COUNTDOWN.

Mcultour enables foreigners to experience Korea′s vibrant culture firsthand, and from food and beauty to music, there′s something for everyone.
