“Drei is a good person. Sabi ko nga, I’m very touched kase he has nothing but kind words sa akin,” Luis told Yahoo! OMG Philippines before the taping of “Pilipinas Got Talent 2” concert in Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on Friday, July 1.
Happy for Luis and Jennylyn
In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Andrei said he and Jennylyn remain friends and that he’s happy for her and Luis.
Andrei also said Luis is one of those who helped him as a host and gave him pieces of advice when he was still a MYX VJ. “Drei is a good friend. Sabi ko nga, we’ve been friends in MYX,” Luis added.
This only proves that there’s no issue between Luis and Andrei. Although he first expressed surprise upon learning that Luis and Jennylyn are dating, Andrei said he’s happy as long as the two are happy.
Luis feels Andrei’s sincerity.
“I’m very, very touched na he said kind words kase nga nagkasama na kami sa MYX dati,” Luis added.
Luis defends Toni
He also defended fellow host Toni Gonzaga from critics who hit her for revealing John Prats and Rachell Ann Go’s breakup, even before the two went public about their relationship.
“Siguro yung kay Toni, hindi naman iyun talaga ang intention nya. Because I know Toni Gonzaga naman, Toni knows how to keep secrets. Siguro nagkataon lang na siguro slip of the tongue or basta malinis naman ang intention nya (as a host),” Luis said.
As a showbiz talk show host and a celebrity as well, how does Luis draw the line between hosting and revealing things about celebrities he personally knows?
“Ako, if it’s not my topic to talk about, I choose to keep it (to myself). Even sa personal ko nga eh,” Luis said.
True to his word, Luis refuses to comment on issues between him and Jennylyn, even though he already admitted that they are dating.
Private matter
Jennylyn’s mother, Lydia Mercado told “Paparazzi” that Luis always visits Jennylyn’s son, Alex, in their home. Luis, pressed for comment, refuses to react.
“That aspect, I’d rather keep it to myself,” Luis said. In a previous interview, he said he doesn’t want to invade the personal space of the child and time will come when their friendship can develop.
Luis recently won Yahoo! OMG! Award for “Favorite Male TV Host.”
His victory gave rise to speculations that fans of his former girlfriend, Angel Locsin, voted for his rivals for the title to prevent him from winning. But Luis thinks otherwise.
“I don’t see any point of them na magsama-sama to vote against me. Nagkataon na they believe na Mo (Twister) deserves it, and you know it’s their vote. I don’t see any reason why dapat magvote sila against me. Hindi sila ganoon,” Luis said.
