Local celebs express support for Charice

After admitting that she is a lesbian, international singer Charice Pempengco earned praises and support from fellow celebrities for “coming out.”
 
Local celebrities turned to social networking sites to commend Charice for admitting her real identity.
 
Lea Salonga shared that Charice has inspired many young adults. Charice also retweeted Lea’s post.
 
“Dear @OfficialCharice have you any idea how many young people you inspired today? More power, blessings and love to you!!!”

Hollywood TV producer Michael Carandang and celebrity make-up artist Jigs Mayuga hope that more gays and lesbians will be inspired to “come out.”
 
“Wow! Just watched @OfficialCharice coming out interview on the #TheBuzz. More power to you! I hope you inspire more GLBT to come out.”

‘Take care of yourself’

Charice’s godfather and news anchor Julius Babao expressed his support to Charice. He also told her to always take care of herself.
 
“@Officialccrp admits, "Tomboy Ako." Way to go inaanak. Your ninang @ChristineBBabao and I will always be here 4 u.”

Many celebrities believe that regardless of Charice’s gender preference, her great talent remains the same.

TV host Bianca Gonzalez said Charice’s admission doesn’t make her “less of a person and artist.”

Basti Artadi  echoed the sentiment of “being true to yourself.”

“Charice is gay. Who cares? Its not about that its about the talent and if your a good personor not TAPOS! nothing like beingtrue to yourself.”

Radio jock Rico Robles and model-actress Bubbles Paraiso believe her revelation doesn’t diminish Charice’s talent. He hopes Charice will continue dishing out  good music.

Magic 89.9 DJ Tin Gamboa, who was suspended because of a Twitter joke on Charice, expressed her admiration for the international singer.
 
“Charice!!! ❤ To anyone who feels the need to hide ANYTHING about themselves, take your cue from this girl. Love yourself and be free.”

The Voice contestant Cheesa Laureta tweeted about how proud she is of Charice.  
 
“Yooooo I'm so proud of my girl @OfficialCharice for inspiring others to never be ashamed of themselves! #noh8 #antibullying #imnotperfect”

 
Charice clarified in an interview on “The Buzz” that she and Cheesa are just friends.
