Filming for upcoming MBC TV Mon-Tue drama ‘Gu Family Book’ is currently underway, and the production team has revealed photos on March 18th, of its leading man Lee Seung Gi who was filming at the Hadong County, South Gyeongsang Province.
Lee Seung Gi who plays the role of half human, half monster Choi Kang Chi, is seen sporting a hairdo with his hair tied up in a ponytail, while wearing a henna coloured hanbok with a bright smile on his face. With ‘Gu Family Book’ being Lee Seung Gi’s first drama in a period setting, the release of the photos gave fans a first look of his image and thus drew much attention.
The production team revealed that Lee Seung Gi took a longer time than usual in the dressing room to have make-up done on him for his transformation into Choi Kang Chi. After he was done, Lee Seung Gi then went to the production staff members and bowed at a 90 degrees angle, showing that he is mentally prepared to lead the drama. Lee Seung Gi always had a happy face on him throughout the filming, and also checked on what had been filmed occasionally, while also entering into discussions with director Shin Woo Chul.
Lee Seung Gi expressed after the filming for the day concluded, “This is my first attempt at a period drama, so I have done lots of preparation work for it, like working hard on perfecting the tonation. I hope to live up to everyone’s expectations and produce an interesting drama successfully.”
‘Gu Family Book’ is led by Lee Seung Gi and miss A’s Suzy, talking about the trials and tribulations of half human, half monster Choi Kang Chi in his path to become a human. The drama is penned by screenwriter Kang Eun Kyung who previously wrote ‘Man of Honor’ and ‘King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo’, and directed by Shin Woo Chul whose previous works include ‘A Gentleman’s Dignity’, ‘Secret Garden’, and ‘On Air’. The drama will make its debut on April 8th.
