Upcoming SBS TV Wed-Thu drama ‘The Heirs’ (script: Kim Eun Sook, director: Kang Shin Hyo) sees Lee Min Ho cast as Kim Tan who is the heir of Empire Group and seems to have everything, but he actually has a sad past that he keeps hidden in his heart, while Choi Jin Hyuk is cast as the older brother Kim Won who fights alone to keep his place in Empire Group. The drama will be showing viewers the complicated relationship between the two brothers.
The production team has today revealed photos of the two having a stare off at an almond farm. The sight of Lee Min Ho looking at Choi Jin Hyuk with affliction while the latter has a cold-hearted reaction, attracted much attention. Despite the beautiful nature as the backdrop, the two however exhibited cold-hearted looks, and left one wondering as to how frosty their relationship was.
This particular scene of the first meeting between Lee Min Ho and Choi Jin Hyuk was filmed at an almond farm in Los Angeles, America on September 8th. The two met on the fringes of the farm which had been holding a fancy party. As the cameras rolled, Lee Min Ho took on the image of Kim Tan who is lonely and feels hurt in his hearts, while Choi Jin Hyuk showed off the dark side of his role as Kim Won who is the CEO of Empire Group.
The presence of Lee Min Ho and Choi Jin Hyuk totally took over the film set during filming, and the two also conversed with director Kang Shin Hyo about the emotional scene and the details, before going on the immerse themselves into filming and perfectly reprised the stare off scene. The filming staff said, “One can’t describe in words about the strong aura of the scene that quietened down everyone once cameras got rolling. This will definitely become a classic scene.”
Choi Jin Hyuk said after filming, “We had to overcome the time difference, and it was quite a distance from location to location. But I did my best for the filming which ended on a successful note. It was quite uncomfortable with the hot weather, but the scene came out well, so I’m very happy.”
The production team said, “Lee Min Ho and Choi Jin Hyuk really shone with their charisma, and their perfect collaboration also fired up everyone at the set. We managed to film a classic scene despite the hot weather conditions and tight schedules. The two also looked after the staff who had been working really hard, and they were all very touched by their gestures.”
‘The Heirs’ sees the first collaboration between screen writer Kim Eun Sook who previously did ‘Secret Garden’ and ‘A Gentleman’s Dignity’, and Kang Hyo Shin PD who last did ‘Tazza’ and ‘Midas’, and is highly anticipated by viewers. ‘The Heirs’ depicts the friendships and love lives of young, rich heirs who form 1% of the upper class of Korean society, and Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), who is considered ordinary and comes from a poor family.
The drama will make its debut on October 9th in place of ‘Master’s Sun’.
