Leather skirts get a revamp

There’s a new variety of leather skirt arriving on the fashion block, and wearing one will put you at the top of the style radar.

Leather has been all over the runway lately, whether we’re talking jackets, trousers or skirts. But the most exciting use of this seductive, biker-chic material is currently on the latest style skirt.

At the Fall/Winter 11 Yiorgos Eleftheriades show, models unveiled a thrilling type of skirt which had never been seen before – leather pencil with an elaborate fishtail shape at the end. This look completely revamps the traditional tight-fitting leather mini, which can be perfect for a rock chic look, but has been totally overdone.

By embracing a longer length and a more unusual shape, the leather skirt becomes classy-yet-experimental.

The best way to wear this type of skirt is with a simple top and plain heels. Your bottom half will have so much style going on that there will be no need to worry about the rest of your attire too much.

By going for a dishevelled up do and teaming with lashings of eyeliner, you will have the rocker aesthetic nailed.
