Kris: No P5-mil watch for Diether
Not a P5-million watch, but a library.
This is Kris Aquino’s birthday gift to Diether Ocampo.
On the set of “The Price is Right” where Diether visited her last Saturday, Kris asked the birthday boy where the rumor about the watch came from.
“Nag-away kami. Sabi ko sa kanya, Di, hindi kita niregaluhan ng relo. Bakit ka nagki-claim?'” Kris said on “The Buzz” last Sunday.
“Humingi siya ng library para sa mga bata na gusto niyang tulungan sa Sulu. Tapos umoo naman ako na ako ang magsu-supply ng lahat ng libro,” Kris added.
The library will be for the children of Diether’s KIDS Foundation.
Diether explained to Kris that the rumor surfaced after his videotaped answer to an interview question was edited.
In the interview, Diether told the press he did not ask for a watch, but for a library which will help more people. "Sabi niya, ini-edit lang yun na hindi maganda. Tapos sabi ko sa kanya, 'Sabihin mo sa kanila hiningi mo sa akin library.' Kaya nagulat ako,” Kris said.
The President’s sister explained that despite this, she and Diether are okay. "Sabi ko, 'Wait, wala kang relo ha!' Pero okay kami.”
Despite endless rumors romantically linking them, Kris denied that she and Diether are more than friends.
“Feeling ko talaga, hanggang sa mamatay na kaming da¬¬lawa, super good friends kami,” Kris shared.
The two became close friends on the set of ‘Dalaw’ an entry in last year’s Metro Manila Filmfest.
"Kasi sa hitsura ni Diet (Diether’s nickname), dapat pini-friend mo na lang siya, wag mo syang i-boyfriend. Kasi sa sobrang guwapo, marami kang makakaagaw, huwag na lang!," Kris joked.
Kris and Junjun
Kris’ heart has obviously softened towards Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, whom she openly chastised for his comments on marriage and separation in The Philippine Star newspaper.
She sat beside Junjun at the Batasan gallery last Monday when her brother, President Noynoy Aquino delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA).
That same day, Kris tweeted: “Yes, magkatabi kami ni Mayor Jun Binay. Ate asked him gusto ba nyang magtabi kami para peace na? Friends na kami. Peace on earth.”

Kris has reclaimed the number one spot in Yes! Magazine’s list of Top 20 Endorsers for 2011. She said many of her endorsements are with son Baby James. She thanked the companies who trusted in them.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa lahat ng taong tumatangkilik sa mga ine-endorse ko. "Kasi hindi ko naman makakamit itong honor na ito sa pangalawang pagkakataon kung hindi dahil sa mga suporta nila sa mga ine-endorse naming,” Kris said.
