(UPDATE) Kris Aquino and James Yap’s five-year marriage is officially annulled according to Kris’ friend, TV host Boy Abunda.
Kris and James were married in 2005 and Kris filed for petition for the declaration of nullity of marriage on August 2010.
“Pormal nang annulled ang kasal ni Kris Aquino kay James Yap,” Boy said in “Bandila” on Thursday, February 2.
According to Boy, the reason for the annulment was "lack of authority of the solemnizing officer," saying that it is null and void from the very beginning.
The TV host also said that Kris and James have already divided their properties. Meanwhile, their son James Yames Yap, Jr. will be under the custody of Kris. James was granted visitation rights.
“Yung pinag-uusapang separation of properties ito ay naganap one year before today. Nagkaroon na sila ng agreement na dalawa kung paano hahatiin ang properties approved by the court,” Boy said.
According to Boy, Kris pointed that an annulment doesn’t call for a celebration.
“She pays tribute to James na he's not greedy. Fair ang kanilang pag-uusap. It doesn't call for celebration she pointed this out na kapag na-a-annul ang isang kasal hindi ito dahilan para magbunyi at mag-celebrate,” he said.
On Friday morning, February 3, Kris confirmed her annulment through a Twitter post.
“Going to HK Disney w/ josh & bimby. Need this weekend to just be the 5 of us (me, my 2 sons & yaya A & Gerbel). Yes I'm annulled & can only wish for james & me lasting happiness & genuine friendship for Bimby's sake.”
Celebrating with sons
In a separate interview with Kris at the surprise birthday party for her and Anne Curtis at the ABS-CBN compound on Thursday, February 2, Kris said she will be celebrating her birthday and Valentine’s Day with her kids, Joshua and Bimby.
“Wala ako dito. I’ll be in Tokyo Disneyland with my kids,” Kris told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and some members of the press.
Kris, Anne and Robin Padilla will star in ABS-CBN’s new TV drama “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.” They also had their story conference on Thursday night and will start shooting on February 21.
Kris said she is treating her sons to Disneyland as she will get very busy once she starts doing the drama. She added that her sons understand her love for acting.
“Bukas dadalhin ko sila sa Hong Kong Disneyland, next week sa Tokyo Disneyland. As in sobrang pagsuhol ngayon, kasi alam nila at alam ko rin na once this starts, ibang level ng pagod. Para at least na payagan nila akong dalawa, alam kase nila na gusto ko talaga ng acting,” she said.
Kissing scene
At the surprise party, Robin said he and Kris will have a kissing scene on the TV drama. Kris jokingly said that she can now have a kissing scene.
“Pwede nang makipaghalikan ngayon. Why not?,” Kris said in jest.
When Anne asked her how far she can go, Kris replied,“This is TV, so how far can you really go. Yung far na far, hintayin natin kasi may movie ako,” Kris said, while laughing.
Kris and Anne said they will be handled by Joyce Bernal and Malou Sevilla. They believe that the intimate scenes will be tastefully done.
“Dalawang babae (na directors) ang hahawak sa amin. Alam namin na kung ano ang mga love scenes namin, it will done in good taste. At alam namin na ang mga girls kikiligin talaga,” Kris said.
