Giving back to fans has become a battle cry for Ke$ha,  who is promoting her album "Warrior" via  the "Warrior Tour,” which will make a stop at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on Thursday, October 24. The show is Ke$sha’s way of uplifting her fans’ spirits, because some of them thanked her for sharing the kind of music that got them through "something really hard."

Ke$sha told Yahoo Philippines OMG!:  "I’ve had a couple of experiences where my fans have told me that my music helped them through. A couple of times it's been intense like some who said they wanted to kill themselves because they weren’t being accepted for who they are. Like at school people aren’t nice to them and they are getting bullied."

Female Robert Plant

Such fan conversations inspired her to make a rock-influenced record with a strong rallying cry. Safe to say this elevated her status to that of  rock singer with a cause. In fact, one critic noted Ke$ha could just be the female version of Robert Plant, frontman of legendary rock band Led Zeppelin.

More importantly, she's now championing youth empowerment through music more than ever.

"I wanted to write a song and I wanted to write a record that was empowering and I wanted to encourage young people to find it inside themselves to be a warrior in hard situations in life and not fall victim to it."

Her Manila performance should inspire more young people to, in Ke$ha’s  own words, "always fight through and find the strength to overcome whatever adversity you have to face."

Positive vibe

The artist,  who is said to have over 22 million Facebook likes, and more than three million Twitter followers, is the voice behind "Die Young" and "Tik Tok," the second best-selling digital single in history, having sold over 14 million units globally.

She was first known via her vocal collaboration with Flo Rida for "Right Round" in 2009.

Ke$ha’s sense of irreverence is credited for her commercial appeal. For the "Warrior" album released last year, she wanted to make an "irreverent record because they like that I'm irreverent, but with a positive message."

Ke$ha's Manila concert will showcase her chart-topping hits, including "Your Love Is My Drug" and "We R Who We R."

Asked to tell more about herself, she offered, "Ke$ha on stage is really intense, because a lot of my songs are really intense. I feel like it’s just an amplified version of myself."
