Katy Perry introduced singer John Mayer as her “boyfriend” after the pair took their relationship public at a Broadway show.
The 28-year singer and her 35-year-old beau attended a performance of A Christmas Story: The Musical in New York City, and happily walked the red carpet together.
After the show, the couple, who have been linked since the summer, went backstage to meet the cast of the theatre adaptation of the classic 1983 film.
“This is my boyfriend John,” a source claims Katy remarked to the assembled actors then saying, “Come on, baby, let's take a picture," before posing for a photograph.
Apparently John let his new girlfriend soak up all the attention while she mingled with the cast.
He didn’t want to hog the spotlight.
“You would think he was just a supportive boyfriend," the insider revealed.
"He let her be the star."
News of the relationship comes several months after Katy’s divorce from Russell Brand was finalised.
Musician John has previously dated Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson.
