Kate Moss “wouldn’t be able to get dressed” if she thought about being a style icon.
The supermodel is regularly praised for her chic fashion choices, but doesn’t buy into the admiration. If she did, Kate thinks she’d become anxious and scared.
“I don’t really think about it. If I thought about it then I wouldn’t be able to get dressed in the morning. I just wear what I feel like,” she laughed in a video interview for British newspaper The Telegraph.
Kate also spoke about who her fashion guardian angel is, saying her agency has always helped her. She was discovered by Storm Model Management when she was 14 and has been with them ever since.
The 38-year-old went on to heap praise on shamed designer John Galliano for his magical shows, claiming they were “like theatre”.
She is looking forward to seeing what the new crop of young fashion stars have to offer, citing the characteristics she thinks they will need to succeed.
“They obviously have to have passion and imagination and determination, because it’s a tough business. And just always believe in themselves. Originality is obviously important because there are so many people who want to do it,” she advised.
“I think both,” she said, when asked if huge creative vision of sellable clothes was more important. “You have to capture people’s imaginations and then it leads into the daily lives. Those amazing shows that feature those clothes, but then you can wear them in everyday life.”
