MANILA, Philippines - Boy band JYJ and rapper Psy have been selected to perform at the inauguration of South Korea's first female President, Park Geun-hye.
President-elect Park Geun-hye will be sworn in as South Korea's 11th president on Feb. 25 at a ceremony to be held at the National Assembly square in Seoul.
The world's top leaders are expected to attend the presidential inauguration and about 70,000 people will be invited to witness the event.
The inauguration will showcase performances that represent each decade from 1950 up to the present, according to a report by ENewsWorld.
Musical actors such as Jang Yoon Jung and Sonya will represent the 1950s to 1980s.
JYJ will perform songs from 1990s to 2000s including "Oh Pilseung Korea" and "I Know."
Psy will perform his signature song "Gangnam Style" and "Champion."
"There is a high chance they will appear on all three major broadcasting companies for the first time since 2010," according to ENewsWorld.
Psy's "Gangnam Style" has recently been nominated for Favorite Song in the Kids' Choice Awards along with Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful."
Kids' Choice Awards 2013 will be aired live on March 23 on Nickelodeon and will be hosted by Josh Duhamel.
Psy is also nominated in the NME Awards in the United Kingdom. "Gangnam Style" is nominated in the Best Dancefloor Anthem category along with Mosca featuring Katy B's 'What You Came For," Calvin Harris and Florence Welch's "Sweet Nothin," MIA's "Bad Girls," Kanye West/Jay-Z's "Paris" and Solange's "Losing You."
He is also vying for the Villain of the Year award along with David Cameron, Harry Styles, Skrillex, Fred Macphersonand Azealia Banks. The awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 27 in London.
