Jodi doesn’t want to compete with Eat Bulaga

“Be Careful With My Heart” lead actress Jodi Santamaria doesn’t want to compete with long-running noontime show  “Eat Bulaga” even if her top-rating teleserye’s timeslot has been moved to clash headlong with the GMA show.

“Mataas at malaki po ang respeto namin sa “Eat Bulaga” kasi institusyon naman na talaga sila. Napatunayan na rin nila na may mga show na dumating at nawala, pero sila nandoon pa rin,” Jodi said at the press conference of “Be Careful With My Heart World Tour” on Monday, February 25.

“Huwag po nating gawing kumpetisyon ito. Alam din po naman namin kung saan kami lulugar,” she added.

“Be Careful With My Heart,” which pairs Jodi and Richard Yap, will start its  world tour in the Middle East in March. The cast will then go to the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.

What’s her take on co-star Aiza Seguerra’s rumored plan to resign out of respect to  “Bulaga,” where she gave her a break as  a child performer (Aiza has denied the rumor)?

“Even before naman lumabas yung resignation issue na iyan about Aiza, never naman niya talaga plinanong umalis ng show. Siyempre, mahal din naman niya ang ‘Be Careful With My Heart.’ Pero siyempre, may respeto rin siya doon sa katapat na show dahil iyon naman ang naging tahanan niya for the longest time. Doon siya lumaki,” Jodi said.

Although Jodi and  Richard look very comfortable together  on screen, both don’t  allow  their sweet scenes to carry them away.

“Very professional naman kami ni Richard pagdating sa trabaho. Trabaho talaga. Kung ano ang kailangan naming gawin, kung ano ang hinihingi sa amin ng eksena, iyon ang binibigay namin.” she said.

Richard is a married man with children while Jodi remains mum about reports linking her to Jolo Revilla.

“Okay lang. Steady lang. Iyon lang ang masasabi ko,” she said.

Last Valentine’s Day, Jodi tweeted her photo with Jolo, but refused to get into details.

“Kaisa-isang photo lang naman iyon. Wala namang masama sa dinner. It was actually a photo of him and me. But then, marami kaming kasama, na-crop lang sila,” she said.
