Jessy happy for Sarah and Gerald

Jessy Mendiola is happy for “Budoy” co-star Gerald Anderson’s budding friendship with Sarah Geronimo.

“Nakikita ko na bagay sila and they’re very happy. If Gerald is going to be happy with her, then go for it. From the way I’m seeing it, nagkakabutihan sila, kinikilig ako para sa kanila,” Jessy told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! at the press conference of Star Magic’s 20th anniversary in ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, March 13.

Jessy also recalls how Gerald and Sarah started getting close. Jessy reveals that she would sometimes tease Gerald and call him “Babe,” Sarah’s term of endearment for him, on the set of “Budoy.”

“Noong nag-start kami ng “Budoy,” wala pa iyon eh, yung kay Sarah. I guess nung middle iyon ng “Budoy” noong nag-shoot sila ng movie nila. I think doon talaga sila naging close,” Jessy revealed.

“I’m very happy for Gerald and si Sarah is very nice. Pag nagkakasalubong kami sa “ASAP Rocks,” she calls me Sabel or minsan Buday. Nakikita mo talaga na masaya siya,” Jessy goes on.

Mr.Right

As for her love life, Jessy believes Mr. Right will come at the right time. Even though her mother has allowed her to have a relationship, Jessy says she has no time for one since she’s happy being busy with her work.

“Naniniwala na lang ako sa right timing. Ngayon, masaya ako sa work ko. Baka mamaya matuloy nga ang pagboboyfriend, maudlot naman ang work. So, thanks na lang,” she said.

Jessy thinks there’s no right age for love, since everything depends on a person’s “maturity level.”

“Sa situation ko, nagkataon lang talaga na hindi dumadating. Para sa akin, walang right age. Nasa pag-iisip iyon eh, nasa maturity level. If you are mature enough to handle a relationship, then go for it,” she said.

Jessy also clarified talks linking her to JM de Guzman and Enrique Gil. She said JM stopped pursuing her due to their busy schedules, while Enrique courted her during their younger days.

“I guess this was after “Sabel” and during “Mula sa Puso” days. Siguro kasi, siya na lang yung biglang nag-stop sa pangliligaw. Pero yung communication, hindi naman totally nawala. I guess it’s just time and yung pagiging busy naming dalawa,” Jessy shared.

Enrique, on the other hand, has been close to Jessy even before they were launched as Star Magic artists. Jessy shared that they remain good friends until now.

“Siguro mga kasing-edad pa namin noon sila Kathryn (Bernardo), sila Julia (Montes). I guess mga puppy love na pangliligaw lang iyon. Ngayon parang ko siyang brother. Pag dating sa secrets, kami ni Enrique yung talagang nag-uusap,” Jessy points out.

Jessy stars in the movie  “The Reunion,” together with Xian Lim, Enchong Dee and Enrique Gil.

“After “Budoy,” masaya naman ako. Ang daming nagsasabi na I did a great job. Meron din akong new projects, so hindi ako nababakante. I’m happy with the projects and with the trust of management to (work) with these leading men,” she said.

More confident

The Star Magic talent is also more self-assured.

“Mas confident na ako ngayon. (But) yung family ko, yung handlers ko, they keep me grounded. Kahit yung mga veteran actors sa “Budoy,” sinasabihan nila kami na huwag magbago,” she explained.
