Jericho’s 'Alagwa' joins Newport Beach Filmfest

Award-winning actor Jericho Rosales is making a comeback at the Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) through his latest indie film, “Alagwa”  (English translation: “Breakaway”).
 
Jericho, together with director Ian Loreños, attended the film’s premiere and red carpet event on Sunday, April 28 (US time) at The Triangle Square Cinema in Costa Mesa, California. The second screening will be held on Tuesday, April 30 (US time) at the Fashion Island Cinema in Newport Beach, California.

The film, which stars Jericho, child star Bugoy Cariño, Smokey Manaloto, Leo Martinez and Carmen Soo, tells the story of a single parent in search of his abducted child.
 
“Alagwa” has joined various international film festivals, including 17th Busan International Film Festival, 3rd Cambodia International Film Festival, 10th Chennai International Film Festival, 5th Bangalore International Film Festival, 1st Kochi International Film Festival and 24th Palm Springs International Film Festival.

The film has also won various honors, including the Best Supporting Actor award for Bugoy at the 1st AIFFA (Asean Intl. Film Festival) and five awards at the 29th PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club) Star Awards for Movies.

Jericho first joined the annual NBFF  in 2011 via the movie “Subject: I Love You,” where he won “Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Acting” award.
