Jenny Packham creates ‘feminine’ collection

Jenny Packham’s debut diffusion collection is “feminine and glamorous”.

The British designer has created an occasion wear line consisting of 19 dresses and pieces of jewellery at a snip of the cost of her usual pieces.

Starting at a budget-friendly £18 for accessories and going up to £160 for a full-length gown, the range will make the gorgeous designs available to less affluent fans of the label.

An example of the chic creation is a coral-coloured pleated floor-sweeping gown with bow detailing on the shoulders and jewel embellishment.

"I have taken some of our most feminine and glamorous styles and evolved them into a collection for [British chain store] Debenhams," Packham told Vogue. "The red dress is a favourite for me as it has an understated dare devil appeal."

The collection will also include shoes and headwear and is set to be released in batches from April onwards.

With fans of the label including Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet and Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge, the affordable designs are sure to fly off the shelves.

Jenny has wanted to create a diffusion line for a while but it was important for her to remain in control of the range.

"I have wanted to design a diffusion collection for some time and believe Debenhams has the experience and energy to create and produce the collection," she said. "It is very important to me to have control over my label and Debenhams actively promote this to ensure maximum synergy between designer and creation."
