Jennifer Lawrence eats "like a caveman".
The actress has no desire to be skinny, even though she feels she is overweight compared to other Hollywood stars. The 22-year-old star of the Hunger Games joked she can be likened to stars who have let themselves go.
“I eat like a caveman, I’ll be the only actress who doesn’t have anorexia rumours," Jennifer told the US edition of Elle magazine.
“In Hollywood, I’m obese. I’m considered a fat actress, I’m Val Kilmer in that one picture on the beach.”
In the image which was taken earlier this year, the Batman star is seen lounging on a Malibu beach in a wet suit displaying a rotund stomach and looking unkempt.
Jennifer joked that even if she wanted to slim down for a film her love of food would stop her doing so.
Even though A-list actresses such as Anne Hathaway and Mila Kunis have spoken about dropping pounds to land roles, she would never buckle to the pressure.
“I’m never going to starve myself for a part," Jennifer said adamantly. "I keep waiting for that one role to come along that scares me enough into dieting, and it just can’t happen. I’m invincible.”
Jennifer, who played lead female Katniss in the hugely successful Hunger Games movie, revealed her motives for wanting to maintain a normal weight. She feels it is important to set a good example to girls who look up to her.
“I don’t want little girls to be like, ‘Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I’m going to skip dinner.’ That’s something that I was really conscious of during training, when you’re trying to get your body to look exactly right," Jennifer explained about her preparation for the role. "I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong, not thin and underfed.”
Jennifer is dating actor Nicholas Hoult, who she calls her "best friend". She can't imagine being with anyone else, revealing some of the things they discuss would surprise people.
"We can eat Cheetos and watch beach volleyball and we turn into perverted Homer Simpsons, like, 'Oh, she's got a nice ass,'" she laughed. "I never thought we'd have such different opinions on asses."
