Jennifer Aniston’s friends ‘argue over bachelorette’

Jennifer Aniston’s bridesmaids are apparently arguing about her bachelorette party, with Courteney Cox insisting the bash shouldn’t be “crass”.

Jennifer is currently planning her wedding after getting engaged to actor Justin Theroux in August. The Hollywood star has reportedly asked her close friends Courteney and TV host Chelsea Handler to be her bridesmaids and the pair are said to be clashing over plans for Jennifer’s traditional pre-wedding party.

According to British magazine Grazia, Chelsea has suggested a “raucous” night out with male strippers and pole dancing. However, Courteney wants to host a more elegant affair.

“Courteney thinks a stereotypical party is a bit crass. Jen’s begged them to come together, but neither wants to budge,” a source told the magazine.

Jennifer has been close pals with Courteney since they starred in hit US TV show Friends, while Chelsea is a newer addition to Jennifer’s circle of friends.

Although Jennifer has a strong connection with both Courteney and Chelsea, they reportedly struggle to get along when they spend time together.

“It’s ridiculous. Chelsea and Courteney have never managed to bond, despite Jen’s desperate attempts,” the source added. “Jen has begged them to go to dinner again – it means a lot to her that they get along. Chelsea feels she’s already made the effort and Courteney just thinks she’s not very mature.”

It is not yet known who will be Jennifer’s maid of honour.

However, last month comedienne Chelsea ruled any chance of her landing the role, fuelling rumours that Courteney will be chosen.

“I’m not going to be maid of honour because Jen has other friends she’s much closer to,” she explained. “We are good friends, but no she’s not going to ask me. No, that would be really weird.”

Jennifer and Justin are rumoured to be planning to marry in either Mexico or Hawaii before the end of the year.
