Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera (Voltaire Domingo, NPPA Images)Heart Evangelista finally broke her silence regarding the alleged airport confrontation between her mother Cecille Ongpauco and “Temptation Island” co-star Marian Rivera.
On her Twitter account, Heart posted earlier Monday, July 4: “FYI who ever said my mom screamed at marian pls come forward.my mom didnt even exchange a single glance with her.”
According to tabloid reports last month, Ongpauco confronted the Filipino-Spanish star at a local airport in Manila last June 13 when the “Temptation Island” cast arrived from their shooting in Ilocos Norte. Additional reports claimed that Heart's mother screamed at Marian and had brought bodyguards with her.
In her tweets, Heart denied the reports.
First statements
The actress' messages on Twitter are her first direct statements on the issue since Marian aired her side of the story last June 23 during the “Temptation Island” press conference.
She also asked her Twitter followers to send links to articles that claim her mother screamed at Marian.
On Sunday, July 3, Heart also tweeted that she hates how “everybody is taking advantage” of her being out of the country.
The “Temptation Island” star is in Brazil with boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga and was not present during the movie's premiere last night and its press conference last June 23.
“I hate it how everybody is taking advantage that I'm not there. So here it is i will say everything that was said to me in that room,” Heart said Sunday via her Twitter account. “And i will say it how it was said. Maybe then you will get it. Not everybody will just bow down to something wrong. I did bow down and cried.”
She continued: “I even said 'please I respect you please don't say these things to me.' But it didn't stop. Ayoko na nga ng gulo thats why didn't fight back..”
‘My mom did it for me’
“My mom did it for me. It's not her fault. Hindi siguro lahat tumatahimik lang. Kung ako, oo mommy ko hindi. Dahil may mali din.”
“I can work with anybody as I said. Never naman ako namili. Kung alam ko lang dahil sa statement ko na "excited ako makatrabaho siya".. that would be the end. Peace po sa lahat. Tama na o because sobrang sakit na. I will explain my side when i get back...”
“In respect to gma and regal di lang po ako nagsasalita. Tama na po ang lait sa mom ko. Its really wrong. I may not be at the peak of it all... but hindi naman po ibig sabihin na di dapat din kami kampihan. This is not the first time. Peace:)” Heart ended her tweets.
Although she didn't say anything specific, her mention of “my mom” and “gma and regal” may indicate that she's referring to the much-talked about issue between her and Marian.
Marian’s side
During the movie's press conference, Marian said all was well between her and Heart during their taping in Ilocos Norte until they, together with the “Temptation Island” cast,” returned to Manila.
“Ang pagkakaalam ko kasi—at hindi lang din naman ako, lahat gn cast, cast and crew, pati ng direktor—maayos ang lahat. Okay kaming lahat. Sobrang nag-usap kami, naging okay kaming lahat. Sorry idro-drop ko yung name ni Lovi (Poe), pero andun sya, nag-usap kami, wala naman kaming pinagawayan. Wala talaga. At hindi kami nagaway,” she said adding, "'Yun na nga lang, pagdating sa airport, nagulat ako.” Marian told members of the press during the “Temptation Island” press conference.
The actress added that she thought what happened between her and Heart in Ilocos Norte was merely a misunderstanding between friends.
However, Marian refused to elaborate on what happened in Ilocos Norte and at the airport.
A day after the press conference, GMA Films and Regal Entertainment, the producers of “Temptation Island,” urged fans of the two actresses to put closure on the issue.
