Here's a recap of what happened at the annual Grammy Awards where French electro duo Daft Punk took the top two prizes.

The Grammys were serious when they promised to pull its 56th year with some love.

In a touching performance featuring pop star Madonna singing "Open Your Heart," Queen Latifah officiated 34 on-air weddings, including the wedding of Ryan Lewis' sister Laura and her boyfriend Alex.

Grammys' big winners, rappers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert, meanwhile, performed the anthem in the campaign for legal gay marriage, "Same Love."

Grammy winner LL Cool J hosted the 56th edition of Grammys.

"Music unleashes us, whoever we are, and whoever we dream about being," the rapper said as he opened the ceremony at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Ca.
