Google+ trends: Android Jelly Bean, Google I/O, 'Star Wars' Gotye parody

Google unveiled its next generation Android operating system, version 4.1 aka “Jelly Bean,” during the opening keynote at its I/O developers conference in San Francisco.

Jelly Bean includes more dynamic notifications, a more accurate keyboard with predictive text, faster voice typing that works even when you are offline, a completely redesigned search experience, and Google Now -- a game changing feature that automatically predicts and shows you relevant information on your phone based on your actions.

Android device owners say they can’t wait to install the update on their handset while I/O participants who have tried the OS first hand are using the social network to post their first impressions.

“This is by far the smoothest and most responsive I've ever seen Android,” say Plussers, “it's awesome...so many fantastic refinements that everyone thinks about have been implemented.”

Jelly Bean isn’t the only Google I/O announcement G+’ers are talking about. Additional major announcements from the opening day keynote include the launch of Google+ Events, the unveiling of the Google Nexus 7 tablet, and a far-out demo of Google’s augmented reality Project Glass.

A Star Wars-inspired video parody of Gotye’s hit song “Somebody That I Used to Know”  has gone viral on Google+.
