'Party Pilipinas' apologizes for controversial dance number

The Kapuso network’s Sunday variety show “Party Pilipinas”apologized for the controversial dance number it presented during the show’s January 27 episode.
 
This comes two days after the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board ordered the program to apologize for a segment of the show that the MTRCB described as “sexually charged.” It also placed “Party Pilipinas” under a six-month probation.
 
Investigation
 
In the apology aired during the February 10 episode of “Party Pilipinas,” GMA7 also said the network will investigate on the matter to determine what the mistake was, who was responsible for it, and to take steps in preventing such an incident to happen again.
 
“Nais naming humingi ng pag-unawa sa mga manonood na maaaring nabahala at hindi nagustuhan ang mga nasabing eksenang naipalabas sa ‘Party Pilipinas.’ Inaako namin ang responsibilidad sa nangyari,” GMA7 said in its public apology.
 
The complete statement of “Party Pilipinas” is as follows:
 
“Noong January 29, 2013, tinawag ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ang pansin ng GMA Network (GMA) patungkol sa mga reklamong natanggap na may kinalaman sa “Opening Number” ng programang “Party Pilipinas noong Enero 27, 2013.
 
“Sinabi ng MTRCB na ang “Opening Number” ay hindi angkop sa mga batang may murang edad dahil sa ma eksenang may suhestyon at mga galaw na sekswal. Dahil dito ay gumawa ang GMA7 ng imbestigasyon upang matukoy kung ano ang pagkakamali at mga taong may kinalaman sa pagkakamali at kung paano hindi na mauulit ang ganitong pangyayari.
 
“Habang umuusad ang imbestigasyon ng GMA7, nais naming humingi ng pag-unawa sa mga manonood na maaaring nabahala at hindi nagustuhan ang mga nasabing eksenang naipalabas sa ‘Party Pilipinas.’ Inaako namin ang responsibilidad sa nangyari. Sisikapin ng GMA7 na lubos na magampanan an gaming tungkulin, na bigyan ang lahat ng manonood ng mga programa na makabuluhan at angkop sa edad ng mga manonood.
 
“Sa mga susunod na araw, ang GMA ay makikipagtulungan sa MTRCB upang laling pagtibayin ang mga prosso at pamamaraang ginagamit para maiwasan ang ganitong pangyayari. Makaaasa ang lahat na gagawin ng GMA ang nararapat ipang mapangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga manonood, lalo na ang mga batang may murang edad.”
