Erich finds Mario Maurer fun to work with
Kapamilya star Erich Gonzales had a great time working with Thai actor Mario Maurer in the movie “Suddenly It’s Magic,” which will be released in October.
“He is very fun to work with, napaka-kid-at-heart niya. He’s very playful,” Erich told Yahoo! Philippines OMG and some members of the press.
Erich admits cultural differences presented challenges for them at first. But she and the star of the hit movie “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” got over them in time.
“When I got to know him, sobrang cool siya. Wala talaga akong masasabi sa batang iyon, sobrang bait talaga. Kaming lahat, (including) mga Thai actors okay kaming lahat sa set. Kasama ko sa Thailand si Ate Joy Viado, so siya ‘yung nagdadala ng comic relief.”
Caring ways
Mario showed his caring ways on the set.
“Dinalhan ako ni Mario ng upuan noong nandoon ako. Basta inalagaan niya ako. Ako din inalalayan ko siya,” Erich reported.
She recalled her first meeting with Mario’s actress-girlfriend Gubgib Leuangthai, “She's such a sweetheart. I told them na if they plan to come here, I can accommodate them, I’ll make time.”
Although they have been shooting for months, Erich didn’t feel like working at all because of the scenic spots in Thailand and the Ilocos region where they went on location.
“Sobrang masaya yung experience. Masarap yung mga pagkain, magagandang lugar and good company. Kahit work, it didn't feel work at all. We were shooting every day, pero kahit ganon magagandang places ang pinupuntahan naming, so parang libreng ikot na rin. Every time I go there, trabaho rin. So parang libreng pasyal na.”
Erich added that they are about to wrap up the movie in the coming weeks.
Erich is positive people will still watch their movie even if she and Mario are dating somebody else.
“Yung audience natin ngayon they’re very open. As long as maganda ‘yung story, maganda ‘yung pagkakagawa ng proyekto, I know they’re supportive.”
How’s her relationship with the non-showbiz guy she admitted to be dating?
“Masaya ang buhay! I’m just enjoying right now. Nasa right age naman na ako. He’s a very private person. Basta let’s keep it that way na lang.”
Erich is also set to do another movie with her “Corazon” director Richard Somes.
