MANILA, Philippines - Enchong Dee is non-committal relating to a recent report alluding to his supposed breakup with actress Julia Montes.
The report, which appeared on PEP recently, alleged that Dee and Montes called it quits last October.
According to the actor-model he would rather let the rumor simply die a natural death.
"Mas magandang huwag na lang sagutin. Kasi, every time na sumasagot ako, hindi naman nila pinaniniwalaan 'yung sagot ko. So, 'yun na lang," he told PEP.
Instead, Dee went on to candidly relate how Montes organized a surprise party for him in Los Angeles for his birthday last Nov. 5.
Meron kasi kaming show...tapos, after ng show namin, meron kasi akong ibibigay na regalo du'n sa producer namin, kasi nga, merong nag-paabot. Pagbukas ko ng pinto, I didn't know na 'yun pala ang kuwarto niya [Montes]. Pagpasok ko, nandoon na silang lahat and she's the one who organized it."
Rumors about the dissolution of the duo's relationship surfaced last August.
Dee denied the matter maintaining that he is yet to make formal his pursuit of Montes.
"'Yun 'yung dahilan kung bakit mas maganda na tahimik [ka na] lang ...kasi, hindi pa man, pinaghihiwalay na kayo," he said then.
He also refuted suggestions that they're having a petty quarrel of sorts.
"Wala, wala... okay kami," he said.
For the longest time, Dee and Montes have been insisting to the press that they're just "friends."
According to the 24-year-old Dee, he intends to pursue Montes only when the latter turns eighteen next year. However, they have admitted that they are already going out but would do so with other friends.
Dee and Montes have appeared together in "The Strangers" and "The Reunion."
