Xian Lim has a piece of unsolicited advice for his friend Enchong Dee: learn to trust.
“Si Xian kasi may trust issues siya. Sabi niya na dahil sa 'The Reunion' (a movie they starred in) mas naging open siya, mas comfortable,” Enchong said at the press conference of “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” at White House restaurant on Monday, September 24.
Enchong also shared that Xian seemed aloof while they were shooting the movie.
“Sinabihan ko siya na huwag ganoon, dapat ay eventually magtiwala rin siya sa mga tao. Hindi naman lahat ng tao ay may balak sa iyo ng masama. Dapat kilitisin mo lang,” Enchong recalled telling Xian.
Xian, for his part explains that he grew up a loner, an only child whose only company at home is his mother. And since they lived in different cities in the US, it was hard for Xian to have close friends.
Happy alone
“Natawag na lang siguro na trust issues. Pero more on masaya kasi ako na mag-isa. Ever since sa school, mag-isa lang ako. Kung kakausapin niyo ako, okay lang. So, tinatanong ni Enchong bakit ako ganoon, hindi raw dapat ganoon yung samahan. So, iyon yung mga napag-usapan namin,” Xian revealed.
Enchong’s concern for Xian has its limits. The former, for instance, won’t pry on Xian’s personal love life.
“Ayaw ko kasi na may ibang tao na nakikialam sa relationship ko. So, mas mabuti siguro na hindi rin ako nakikialam sa relationship ng iba,” Enchong explained why he doesn’t advise Xian about his on screen partner Kim Chiu.
Meanwhile, Enchong is still waiting for Julia Montes’ mother to allow her to get into a relationship.
“Mag-antay tayo. Andoon pa rin tayo sa waiting. Darating ang presscon na ito, ang telerserye na ito, at yung susunod ko na pelikula, na ang isasagot ko sa inyo ay waiting pa rin. Hangga't hindi pa nag-18 (si Julia), standby lang tayo.”
Enchong is paired for the first time with Maja Salvador in “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.”
