Derek Ramsay admitted he got hurt over Anne Curtis’revelation that she’s not allowed to mention his name when promoting their upcoming movie “A Secret Affair” on her program “It’s Showtime.”

But the Kapatid star doesn’t want to use the issue to promote their project out of respect for ABS-CBN.

“That’s how much respect I have for them. I don’t want to use this to promote the movie. I want the movie to speak for itself because we worked really hard,” Derek said in an interview during the press conference for“The Amazing Race Philippines” on Thursday, October 18.

The actor added he still looks at his former home network as a family.

“I have a lot of respect for them,” he said.

‘Hindi ako nang-iwan’

Many are speculating that the alleged directive came about because  Derek’s departure from ABS-CBN wasn’t amicable.

Derek, however, believes he went through the proper process when he left the Kapamilya network earlier this year to become a TV5 talent.

“I included them, I included all of you. It took eight months, eight months of negotiation. I didn’t entertain TV5 until after my contract expired. That I could swear to you,” he said.

He added the current issue hounding him hurts because he “followed everything in regards to etiquette, to respect.”

“I have a lot of respect for them. The decision I made, it’s not like iniwan ko sila without telling them. Hindi ako nang-iwan.”

‘This isn’t my show’

But as issues continue to pursue Derek, so do the new projects. Besides his upcoming fantasy show “Kidlat,” Derek will be seen daily on “The Amazing Race Philippines.” When “Kidlat” premieres next week, he will be seen in TV5’s primetime programming twice a day.

But his two shows are “totally different,” he said. “One I’m acting, one I’m hosting. And ‘The Amazing Race’ isn’t my show.”

Derek explained the popular reality show will be about the contestants (11 pairs, including football players and Armand and Anton del Rosario and actress LJ Moreno and friend CJ Jarabara) and the places they will visit while competing for the two million peso cash prize.

He likened “The Amazing Race” to his Olympics coverage last July.

“When I went to the Olympics, everyone was bombarding me, ‘Hindi ka naman nakita.’ E di naman ako athlete sa Olympics. I’m there to report, support our athletes,” he explained.

“The Amazing Race Philippines” premieres Monday, October 29after “Wil Time Bigtime” on TV5.
