Dennis and Jennylyn mend fences

Less than a year after their controversial break-up, Dennis Trillo has mended fences  with ex-girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado.

Although he refused to elaborate on how it transpired, the 30-year-old actor said the reconciliation happened last year.

“Yun na yun kasi di matatapos hangga’t nagco-comment ako,” he told members of the press during the press launch of GMA-7’s upcoming primetime show “Biritera” on Friday, January 27.

“Basta as of now, wala akong connection dun. Masaya ako dito sa show. Masaya ako’t marami pang mga darating na projects dito sa show,” Dennis said.

He added that there are no more ill feelings between him and Jennylyn.

“Wala na po, kasi hindi ka matatahimik kung magkikimkim ka lang ng galit,” Dennis explained. “Hindi ka makakatrabaho ng maayos at hindi mo magagampanan ang kailangan mong gawin habang mayroon kang tinatagong poot sa loob ng puso mo.”

Moving forward

Can the two of them to be friends again?

“Oo naman, kasi tapos na yan e. So, di ba, nakalimutan na lahat, simula na nang panibago. Kung may pagkakataon mang ganun, siguro wala namang magiging problema,” Dennis shared.

He further said, “Okay na yun kasi matagal ng nangyari so tapos na.”

Is Dennis open to working with Jennylyn in another project?

“Posible naman siguro pero ngayon focus ako sa mga ginagawa ko kasi kakasimula pa lang ng ‘Biritera’ so dito muna ako nagfo-focus,” he replied.

Dennis and Jennylyn admitted their relationship April of 2010 while working together in the afternoon soap opera “Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak.” They broke up around March last year.

Jennylyn is currently in a relationship with Kapamilya host Luis Manzano.

Taking things slow

As for Dennis’ love life, the Kapuso leading man said he is not yet in a relationship with Bianca King.

“Nandun pa rin kami na, alam mo yun, getting-to-know,” Dennis explained. “Wala namang nagmamadali sa amin. Ine-enjoy naming yung oras namin pareho dahil pareho naman kaming busy. So, dahan-dahan lang. Hinay-hinay lang.”

Asked to describe what he likes most about  Bianca, Dennis said: “Pribadong tao, edukada, at sophisticated.”

He added, “Alam natin na galing siya sa magandang pamilya and all. So, wala namang di magandang pwedeng sabihin (tungkol) sa kanya.

Although he said he still has no plans for Valentine’s Day, Dennis said Bianca will most likely be his date for the said day, if ever.

“Ayokong magsalita ng tapos pero malamang ganun na nga,” he said.

A ‘challenging’ show

“Biritera” will be Dennis’ return to GMA’s primetime block after he did the afternoon soap opera “Sinner or Saint” with Bianca.

Dennis reveals that he finds his foray into a music-themed show challenging.

“May challenge talaga. Lahat naman ng proyektong binibigay sa akin, may iba’t ibang klaseng challenge. Nataon lang, dito, nahaluan ng konting musical. So this time, siguro yun yung pinaka-challenge sa akin,” he said.

“Biritera” will premiere February 6 on GMA.
