MANILA, Philippines - Given the chance, Brapanese model-actor Daniel Matsunaga will not shy away from meeting Sen. Chiz Escudero, the current boyfriend of the former's ex-girlfriend, Heart Evangelista.
"I can approach Chiz. There's no problem," he told Bulletin Entertainment.
The hunk actor has no qualms telling the senator "please take care of Heart kasi she's really a good person."
He'd also say, "it's really nice meeting you. I heard really good things about you."
Approaching the senator is a non-issue for Daniel.
"There's no problem of me doing the first move. I really have no bad feelings, eh. Wala namang problema."
Meeting Heart Again
Before moving to TV5, Daniel has encountered Heart a few times and they were civil to each other.
"We're still friends," he said. "After the break we saw each other in Dolphy event, 'Party Pilipinas.' It was okay naman, parang friends lang [kami]."
His controversial split with Heart did not traumatize Daniel who's even willing to have another Pinay girlfriend in the future.
"Hindi ako takot.. I love girls from the Philippines. I love the Philippines that's why I'm here for three years and a half now. I am not afraid. My sister has a husband who is a Filipino," he said noting that Filipinos are "very welcoming" and "really nice."
Although he's open to entering a new relationship, Daniel is biding his time, opting to focus on his blossoming career on TV 5 where he appears on three TV shows namely "Game & Go," "Third Eye" and "Enchanted Garden."
"I am a Christian. I believe that God will give the right girl for you at the right time. You just need to wait for it. For now, ang focus ko muna ay sa trabaho," said he.
No romantic ties
Daniel downplayed rumors linking him to TV 5 talent Eula Caballero.
Rumors have it that the two showed seemed to have been more-than-friends towards each other during taping for "Third Eye" and while hosting "Game & Go."
The hook-up rumor, he said, is far from the truth.
"Actually, I have been linked to many girls pero hindi totoo. Eula ang me are just friends. She's really nice and we just work together in 'Third Eye.' Close friends lang kami. She's good friend lang kasi ano we're making jokes sa set. Wala, wala namang ganoon."
Does he plan to court Eula?
"I'm really focusing sa trabaho muna," he said.
