Is Thai superstar Mario Maurer smitten with comedienne Kakai Bautista?
A series of photos showing them enjoying moments together in Thailand went abuzz online and sparked rumors that they are dating.
Kakai, who met Mario on the set of Star Cinema’s “Suddenly It’s Magic,” set the record straight.

“Magkaibigan lang po talaga kami ni Mario Maurer. Nothing romantic. Kumalma silang lahat, may pag-asa pa kayong lahat guys. Huwag kayong magalit sa akin. Kasi hindi ko rin naman kasalanan kung bakit kami naging magkaibigan. Mabait talaga siya, aalagaan ka talaga niya,” Kakai said in a phone interview aired on TV Patrol on Wednesday, March 6.

‘Kumalma na kayo’
She also clarified the rumors through Twitter.
Kakai and some friends recently went to Thailand, where they met up with Mario and his manager. That was where the online photos came from.
Kakai is vocal about her friendship with Mario, who has broken up with long-time girlfriend Gubgib Sumontip.

Mario, for his part, always had good words for Kakai, especially when they were promoting “Suddenly It’s Magic,” where many people noticed how close they are.
