Coco Rocha is excited about her “amazing” Senhoa jewellery line.
The 22-year-old Canadian model has collaborated with the organisation, which supports victims of human trafficking, to design a line of jewels empowering women.
Young women are removed from the sex trade in Cambodia and trained in jewellery making, and Coco enjoyed learning about the craft herself.
“We decided that instead of throwing a party, I would design a line. They work with their hands, so everything is beaded, everything is with little crystals. It’s actually quite amazing material that they work with,” Coco is quoted as saying by modelinia.com.
“Everything is going to a good cause. We don’t keep any of [the proceeds] and the Senhoa people are good about making sure the money is in the [right] hands.”
As well as being a successful fashion model, Coco is famed for her charity work. The beautiful star has been involved in initiatives in Haiti, which was struck by a devastating earthquake last year, and she hopes to combine her charity work.
“We plan on somehow involving the Senhoa girls. When you come to the show, we give you the jewellery and the proceeds go half to the Haiti kids and half to the Senhoa girls. So it’s like the girls in Cambodia are helping the girls in Haiti,” she enthused.
