Christian wants a low profile love life

When it comes to his love life, Christian Bautista now knows better. He wants to keep it low profile.

After four months of staying in Singapore to shoot the first season of “The Kitchen Musical” where he plays Chef Daniel Ray, Christian is back in the country to continue his stint in “ASAP Rocks” and promote his new album “Outbound.”

In an interview at the mall tour of “The Kitchen Musical” in Market! Market! last November 6, Christian was very playful and casual with the press, but remained tight-lipped when it came to his love life.

“I’ve decided to be quiet about this. So kapag nahuli niyo na lang ako na meron, 'yun na 'yun. Wala na akong masasabi. It’s good right now. As I said, pina-private ko na 'yun so pwedeng meron, pwedeng wala, para maiba,” Christian said, laughing.

He added that his relationship with Rachelle Ann Go was hard because the public knew about it.  They remain friends despite the break-up.

    Lessons learned

“If I ever enter a relationship, hindi ko siya ipa-public. Kasi mahirap eh. In the last relationship of mine, yung kay Rachelle Ann (Go), ang hirap. We’re still friends. In fact I’m going to watch her in ‘Little Mermaid.’  Pero personally, hindi ko kaya na public ang relationship,” Christian admitted.

Christian and Rachelle were in a relationship for two years. Does he see themselves reconciling?

“Anything’s possible. There is a chance pero I’m not pursuing,” he replied.

The “Kitchen Musical” star shared that he’s very serious when it comes to relationships and respects the welfare of the girl. Christian added that he doesn’t want to talk whenever he’s dating someone because people might speculate that he’s just playing around.

    Love and work

“I have been dating but I never tell anyone because it’s unfair to the girl and it’s unfair to the relationship. And the thing with the dat scene kasi, if I date now then it doesn’t work tapos we tell the press, parang nagiging playing,” he said.

Christian shared he doesn’t mind dating a non-showbiz girl, but she has to be understanding of his work.

“Well in this business you’re needed every single day, everywhere not just in the Philippines. It takes a very understanding person to even consider dating or being with a celebrity,” he said.

Christian is very busy right now. But he doesn’t mind getting into a relationship despite his tight schedule and the demands of his job.

“When love comes you have to answer no matter what. Aralin mo lang muna if the love is going to be good for you or not. Kasi kung hindi mo kaya isabay, mahirap. Pero kung nai-inspire ka because of that love, great, do it,” Christian shared.

Did he go out on dates during his four-month stay in Singapore?

"I dated. Masaya because I never had that here kasi walang nagfa-follow sa amin. Pag doon kasi no pressure,” he admitted.

Christian shared he learned a lot while working with an international cast and staff.

“It gave me the confidence to do more things. Mas nag-grow ako as an actor. I wanna do more whether it’s a teleserye or a musical, until I become very comfortable,” Christian revealed.

“The Kitchen Musical” also stars other Filipino artists such as Karylle, Arthur Acuña, Thou Reyes and Ikey Canoy. Produced by The Group Entertainment,  it airs on Studio 23 every Saturday at 7:30 PM.
