Charice: Tomboy po ako
Controversial singer Charice has finally admitted on national TV that she's a lesbian, in an exclusive interview on The Buzz aired Sunday, June 2.
"Opo, tomboy po ako. Hindi ko po alam kung ano ang problema doon. Kasi para sa akin, wala pong probema iyon," Charice told “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda.
The international singer humbly addressed those who don't understand her situation and those who accept her for who she is.
"Gusto kong humingi ng tawad sa mga hindi nakaintindi, sa mga hindi makakaunawa, sa mga hindi ako matatanggap, sorry po. Naiintindihan ko po kayo. Sa lahat ng mga makakatanggap, natanggap ako, maraming-maraming salamat po. Sa ginagawa kong ito, gusto ko lang sabihin, na ang gaan ng pakiramdam ko ngayon na makakalabas ako ng bahay na wala akong itatago. Wala akong masasagasaang tao dahil wala akong tinatago."
Sorry, mom
Charice admitted that she and her mother Raquel have a misunderstanding.
"Sorry mommy, Carl (her brother). Pero ito ako. Proud ako sa sarili ko, mahal ko ang sarili ko."
Charice added, "Kailangan ko po siyang intindihin kasi kung nasaktan man niya ako, mas nasaktan ko siya bilang isang ina. Ngayon hindi kami yung magka-away. Nasa stage kami paeeho na intindihin yung isa't isa. Pero I have to give her credit na intindihin yung sitwasyon."
Alyssa Quijano’s role
She also clarified rumors about women being linked to her, including Filipino-American The Voice contestant Cheesa Laureta and X Factor Philippines contestant Alyssa Quijano.
Charice said she and Cheesa are just friends. Alyssa, meanwhile, adds Charice, is her source of inspiration.
“Isa siya sa mga sobrang pinagkukuhanan ko ng lakas. She's a very special person," Charice desdribed Alyssa, whom the international singer was rumored to have eloped with.
Does she love Alyssa?
“Sana mabuksan niyo na lang po ang puso ko para makita niyo. Malakas ang tibok," Charice answered.
Charice first met Alyssa many years ago in singing contests.They met again via “X Factor.”
Dwindling career?
Charice reacted to assumptions that she no longer has a career since many photos of her hanging out in Cabuyao, Laguna have come out.
"Natawa na lang rin po ako. Kasi ang hirap pala kapag nagtry kang magpakababa. Kapag nakikita ka nila sa labas na gumagala. I'd rather do that rather than sa magpakasosyal."
Charice announced that she has big projects coming out soon, including a third album in the Philippines.
"Magkakaroon po ako ng recording. Magrere-record po ako ng isang song na mafi-feature sa isang malaking project. Siyempre may mga TV shows rin po, pero hindi ko pa pwedeng sabihin."
