    Charice: Lip-syncing is not cheating

Charice didn't hesitate to give her two cents when asked to comment about  Madonna's alleged lip-syncing during the Super Bowl XLVI halftime performance.

Through Twitter, she expressed that she doesn’t see anything wrong with lip-syncing, especially when a singer performs in front of a big crowd.

“I sing. But I'm not perfect. I would totally lip sync if I would do some big events with millions of people watching,” was Charice’s reply to one of her fan's tweet on Monday, February 6.

Charice continued sharing her thoughts, saying that the media will always have something to say about anyone’s performance and advised her fans to “Just do your thing and be noticed no matter what. Good or Bad.”

The young singer added that lip-syncing doesn’t necessarily translate to cheating, as it can also help in easing the nervousness of a singer.

“It's not a crime or cheating. Sometimes it just makes you feel better. I would be realllllly nervous,” she said.

Charice also admitted that she still feels the nerves every time she performs.

“Seriously? I am not the most perfect person out there. I'm still nervous even if I just sit down and do interviews,” she said.

Charice who's not new to being the subject of negative comments already predicted how some netizens would react after reading her fearless Twitter statements.

“I bet some people would write something like, "Oh geez, Charice is lip syncing now!" boo! Lol. What do you expect anyway,” she conveyed.

Charice will stage a concert in Dubai on March 2 as part of her “Infinity” concert tour and Manila on March 9 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

If you're dancing and gyrating like crazy, then I imagine it would be very difficult to keep in tune and remember the lyrics. But I expect better if you're just going to stand there and sing.

if you do it to make your audience believe that you "actually" sing it (live), that's like fooling them. Take it from Mariah & Celine. They hit the notes and all to make their audience be mesmerized of their "vocal prowess", only to find out that it's lipped & pre-recorded. As a belter-singer (singer showcasing vocal abilities) like Charice, Mariah & Celine et al, your audience wants to watch you perform LIVE in concerts. If an artist like them will lipsynch her performance, the audience would rather listen to his/her studio album then. But if you are the likes of Britney et al, lipping is forgivable, they are dancing at the same time anyway. And it's more of visuals.

Lip sync is very common to those so called autotuned singers specially american young singers nowadys,But its not acceptable to see from those so called legendary singers. Charice's stand in this things isnt bad, actually shes just being realistic.

Yo people miss the point! Charice is talking about the big events where millions of people around the world are watching live on TV like the Super Bowl event that Madonna just went through. The last Sunday's game was the most widely viewed Super Bowl event in American television history, drawing 111.3 million glued pair of eyes on NBC - TV. Again Charice is talking of BIG EVENTS, she's trying to convey, "If Madonna is lip-syncing, (which Madonna did) so why can't she?"

Don't worry she's not talking about lip-syncing on her Infinity Tour coming soon in March. You can buy your tickets now BTW!

First she was a Whitney Houston impersonator. Now she is a Beyonce impersonator. Now im told she lip-sync. Well why am i not surprised as is typical with Filipinos they have no soul of there own and are merely american clones with little talent just walking american parrots if u dont believe me then why is Gary Valencypants and Martin Meveira big stars. So embarrassing and they are nothing but copy artists.. Instead of defending her be embarrassed instead.

well that's her opinion. we'll just have to respect it. besides charice is soo good singer and being considered threat by so so performers. many are envious to her. why dont you just mind your own business and try to appreciate her contributions to us Filipinos besides kahit kailan di nyo kaya ang talent niya. even you devote your whole life to voice lessons, still we are far away from her talent. only crazy people does crazy comments against our Filipino prides...hehe! peace folks.

Lip syncing is a mortal sin in singing rule, but then again..in evry rule, theres an exemption. However,i dont think lip syncing is charice's game.

lipsync has always been a part of singing..that were not used to hear from legendary singers.
    • A Yahoo! User  •  3 months ago
This is all about the quality of the product. A singer is selling his voice to the people, they expect a live voice. Now, if she will do a lip syncing then there is no quality on the product she is selling. People will rather play an audio cd or look for another singer who will not do lip syncing.

Lip syncing is cheataing those who want to hear her sing. Thats baloney!!!!
    • A Yahoo! User  •  3 months ago
lip syncing is cheating...a singer is deceiving the audience after all they paid to get in to watch a singing performance....
