Chanel brings Métiers d'Art 2013/14 to Dallas

The French luxury brand is taking its traveling fashion extravaganza to Texas.

Over the last ten years, Chanel's Métiers d'Art show has traveled around the globe, showing off the brand's luxurious creations. Last year creative director Karl Lagerfeld had something of a Highland fling, with a brooding, tartan-packed show that took place in Linlithgow Palace in Scotland. Previous shows have taken place in Tokyo, London, and Shanghai.

Now the circus is hitting the great state of Texas, with a show scheduled for Tuesday at the famous Fair Park in Dallas. It seems like the perfect location for Chanel: built in 1936 to celebrate the state's 100th anniversary, the 277-acre park contains the world's largest collection of art deco buildings, art and sculpture.

Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel also visted the city herself to receive the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion in 1957.

The event will see the first screening of Lagerfeld's movie "The Return," which stars Geraldine Chaplin and Rupert Everett among others, and looks at Coco's return to the world of Parisian haute couture after years in the fashion wilderness following the Second World War. The film will premiere as an introduction to the fashion show, at 6:30pm local time, and will be broadcast simultaneously online at Chanel.com.

Glamorous celebrities will be flying in from around the world for an up-close look at the clothes, but you'll be able to follow all the action from home via Chanel's social media chanels.
