Have fun while helping others.
This is what UNTV and its partners want runners to feel when they join the nationwide “Kahit Isang Araw Lang” Unity Run on Sunday, Jan. 22 The fun run, now on its second year, aims to continue UNTV’s thrust to build more computer classrooms and classroom buildings and push a scholarship-program for mass communication and nursing students.
“Na-identify na namin kung saan itatayo yung two-story classrooms with the help of the Education Department under Secretary Armin Luistro,” says Daniel Razon, chairman and CEO of Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International, which operates and manages UNTV.
He expects to see celebrities like Ronnie Ricketts, Gary Estrada, Zoren Legaspi and Daisy Reyes among others to join the event.
Razon, popularly known as Kuya Daniel is again setting his sights high.
“We aim to net around P20 million -- of which more than P200,000 at least will come from Metro Manila,” he told the press.
Fun run organizers, on the other hand, peg the number of runners this year at 300,000, five times that of last year’s.
Kuya Daniel himself is joining the 5K category even if he admits having some genetic knee problems.
“I see to it that continuous ang pagtakbo ko,maski once a week man lamang,” he relates.
The first 20,000 registrants will get an official Unity Run singlet and canvas bag.
