Celebrities join relief efforts for typhoon victims
The milk of human kindness continues to overflow as local and international celebrities have joined hands in helping victims of Yolanda, one of the strongest typhoons to hit the country.
Sharon Cuneta donated P5 million to Aboitiz Foundation and another P5 million to TV5’s foundation Alagang Kapatid. Her TV5 show with Ogie Alcasid “The Mega and the Songwriter” held a telethon to accept donations.

Anne Curtis held a garage sale at Market! Market! on Sunday, November 10, and sold her gowns, dresses, and shirts ,among others. She also sold some of boyfriend Erwin Hessaff’s things.. Anne said that the P370,000 she earned from the garage sale will go to World Vision.
Husband and wife Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez are also doing their share. Ogie is donating some of his watches while Regine is putting up signature bags and gowns for auction to help typhoon victims. Regine asked fans to check out her official website for details. Items for sale can be viewed at @rvfriends fan page on Facebook.
Donations to Ormoc
Kris Aquino gave Leyte representative Lucy Torres-Gomez P400,000, which she turned over to residents of her hometown, Ormoc City and other municipalities in the said province. The TV host-actress is also turning over items she got from her endorsements to typhoon victims.
Lucy is also putting up a website where she will consolidate donations and upload them for netizens to view. She adds that drinking water, blankets, non-perishable items, rice and drinking water are most welcome.
Other celebrities are helping the typhoon victims through organizations of their choice. Angel Locsin is helping Philippine National Red Cross, while KC Concepcion encourages everyone to help donate to the World Food Programme. KC also retweets posts of international celebrities, such as Jason Mraz, Christina Aguillera and Elijah Wood, who encourage everyone to help and pray for Yolanda victims.

Donations per mistake
“It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda tweeted that he and fellow hosts will give P1,000 for every mistake on their spiel. The proceeds will go to typhoon victims.
