Brad Pitt: Fatherhood made me better man

Brad Pitt says he is “absolutely” a better man since becoming a father.

The actor and Angelina Jolie raise biological children Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne and adopted kids Zahara, Maddox and Pax.

The 48-year-old says his brood has changed him in a positive way.

“Has fatherhood made me a better man? Absolutely,” he assured People magazine.

"[Being a dad] takes you right off yourself."

In the past year, Angelina has seen the release of her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey and has been filming upcoming fantasy-thriller Maleficent, in which she takes on the lead role.

While she is busy with her career, Brad takes care of the children and says he enjoys the opportunity for family time.

"It's been a family type of year, a down-home type of year," he reflected. "Mama's worked more. And quite frankly I've really enjoyed it."

Brad and his beautiful fiancée are yet to tie the knot, but yesterday it emerged Brad had hinted it would happen “soon”.

Whereas he hasn’t spilled details on a date, the Inglourious Basterds star has a good idea of his expectations for the big day.

"Just family. Keep it simple. Keep it simple – really,” he divulged.

Brad isn’t far from turning 50 and will reach the milestone age at the end of next year.

There seems to be no sign of a midlife crisis for the hunk, who says he is happy to embrace ageing.

"This is what I think about: 'OK, you're way over the mid-point [of your life]. You don't know how much time you have left.’ I want to enjoy this year more than ever,” he explained.
